The Big Sur Natural History Associationis a nonprofit organization and a cooperating association with California State Parks, dedicated to fostering understanding, appreciation, and stewardship of Big Sur’s extraordinary natural environment.

Since 1984, BSNHA has supported education, interpretation, and research focused on the unique landscapes, wildlife, and ecological systems of the Big Sur coast. Through partnerships, public programs, and outreach, we help ensure that the natural history of this place is preserved and shared with future generations.

Big Sur is more than a destination — it is a living, dynamic ecosystem. Our work helps people better understand the natural processes that shape this region and the responsibility we all share in protecting it.
